Are you strong enough to break free from the sheltering corporate arms?
Many young and old entrepreneurs find the path to business ownership after working various corporate jobs. Many are highly gifted young individuals or seasoned professionals with top-notch skills and bright ideas. But can they survive without the security of a corporate safety net?
Sure, we hear of high unemployment rates and corporate layoffs every week, and if you work for a corporation—large or small—you may often wonder if you’re next.
This means your individual professional skills and talents must be toned at all times and remain in top shape. Should you find yourself back in the job market; first-rate skills and a strong work history will make you attractive to the sheltering arms of another corporation.
But if you decide to become your own corporation, not only do your personal business skills need to be in top shape, you’ll need to bump up the work-out and spend time strengthening your company too.
There are now two mouths to feed to build strong business muscles: yours and your business. And if you’re successful, the corporation will one day be feeding a multitude of mouths.
So test your arms, and see if they can lift and carry the heavy business load. As with all training, start with a lighter load and work your way up. Maybe test the entrepreneurial market part-time at first. Your may find that your arms shake a bit, but your heart races.
Keep at it! Make your work-out longer, add more weight, and you might soon see that it’s time to showcase your corporate arms.
